Shealy's BBQ

There are some BBQ places that you simply go for the meat. It is all about the meat! They will give you a scoop of canned baked beans, Cole slaw out of a white plastic tub and top it with a roll out of a plastic bag. It is not about the sides it is about the meat only. Those things are only put on there to give some semblance of the food pyramid, only upside down, because again it is only about the meat. Shealy's BBQ is not this type of BBQ House. My Favorite Meal - Chicken Cordon Bleu

Are there some meals that you just do not need the recipe for? Not that you do not want the recipe, but you know that it would just be bad for you to have it. There is a little Mom and Pop restaurant off of Exit 65 on I-77, The Front Porch , and they have excellent fried pork chops. I decided I needed to know how to make these fabulous fried porcine chops. So I made several batches over a few weeks. I finally perfected the recipe and then realized that this was not a good thing. Either familiarity breeds contempt or a worry about my expanding waist line caused me to let go of my recipe. Bread - No Carb Diets Must Die!

I pity those that only know bread as something that comes into the home cold and wrapped in plastic. Even if you get it from a local bakery, if you find one let me know where it is, it is still not the same as homemade bread. The smell in the house alone is worth the little trouble it takes to make homemade bread. As a human being I am concerned that we are losing very basic life skills , baking is one of those simple skills that is dying. Bread to many is a lifeless loaf that has more air between the crust than glutton. How many people know the joy of kneading a yeast dough and watching those little yeasts burp gas that causes the dough to rise. How many people know the joy of knowing what is in their bread? How many people would die in a house stocked with only basic supplies and not frozen, canned, or otherwise prepared and prepackaged food?
