With four children and the cost of food going up I have been looking for inexpensive treats for the family. I have been experimenting with popcorn. It is cheap and easy to make at home. I had been trying to make the microwave version in a brown bag, but it just was not working out. Tonight, I had a great result with my large heavy bottomed stock pot. Almost all the kernels popped and there was no burned pieces. So with just a 1/2 a cup of popcorn, which cost about $ 0.14, five of us had plenty of popcorn.
I get my popcorn at Earthfare where they sell it in bulk bins.
Oh Yeah, one more thing. Do not open the lid and look in while the popping is going on. Also do not ask how I know this information.
